The Early Years Foundation Stage team at St. Mary's C of E Academy would like to warmly welcome our new cohort of children and families. 

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new 2024 cohort.

Starting school is a very exciting step in your child's journey and we are delighted to be a part of this.

We have several stages to support your transition into school.

To begin with, we will be visiting your child in their nursery / preschool and speaking with their key worker. Once we have an understanding of the needs of the children we will assign classes. Children will not necessarily remain with all of their preschool friends. 

We then invite parents into school to meet with teams and to get to know what life is like at St. Mary's C of E Academy for our Parent Induction Evening.

Details of this event will be sent to families.  

Stay & Play session for children to meet their new class will be in July.

Home Visits will be available to all families. You can book these visits at the parent induction evening in June. Home Visits run in late July or early September. 

Finally a Summer picnic will be held in August - invites will be sent out soon.

Details of all of the above will be sent out to families registered with us. 

If you have not received a letter from the school before June, please email the school office to check the contact details we hold are correct. 

In the meantime, please navigate your way around the school web site and familiarise yourself with routines, uniform and daily timings.

Once your child is registered with us, we will be setting up a Tapestry account (this is for you to observe day to day learning) and we ask you to set up an Arbor account for you to manage  admin (lunches, club payments, absences etc).
