The Early Years Foundation Stage team at St. Mary's C of E Academy would like to warmly welcome our new cohort of children and families.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new 2026/2027 cohort.
Starting school is a very exciting step in your child's journey and we are delighted to be a part of this.
We have several stages to support your transition into school.
- Firstly, we will be sending out e-mails welcoming you to our school, with a few questions about your child and your family to help with transition.
- A phone call will also be made over the coming weeks to say hello and answer any questions you may have.
- We will also be visiting your child in their nursery / preschool and speaking with their key worker. Once we have an understanding of the needs of the children we will assign classes. Children will not necessarily remain with all of their preschool friends.
- A Parent Induction Evening will take place for parents in school to meet with teams and to get to know what life is like at St. Mary's C of E Academy
- Children are invited to come and explore their new class at our Stay and Play session.
If you have not received a letter or phone call from the school before June, please email the school office to check the contact details we hold are correct.
In the meantime, please navigate your way around the school website and familiarise yourself with routines, uniform and daily timings.

Once your child is registered with us, we will be setting up a Tapestry account (this is for you to observe day to day learning) and we ask you to set up an Arbor account for you to manage admin (lunches, club payments etc).
