Year 2
Welcome to Year 2!
Miss Andrews teaches 2HA with the support of Miss Bassett who is a full time in-class teaching assistant. Miss Lawrence teaches 2RL with the support of Mrs Heslop who is also a full-time in class teaching assistant. Mrs Poolton works in Year 2 supporting children with their Speech Language and Communication needs.
In Year 2 the children have the experience of a broad and balanced curriculum, from building fairground wheels in Design and Technology to learning about hot and cold countries in Geography. There is a significant focus on the core subjects: maths, reading, phonics and writing, to ensure the children are ready to transition into Key Stage 2. With this in mind we ask that the children are prepared for their PE lessons each week and that homework is completed each week to support the children’s learning.
