'We promise to shine together.'
Let the light of your face shine upon us - Psalm 4:6
We hope you all had a restful half term. We are very much hoping that we will all be back together again very soon.
This half term, we will be using the the text "The Queen's Hat" as the stimulus for our writing and our class novel will be "The Little Princess". Please have a look at our topic map above, for further information.
During Spring 1, we have been learning about the island country of Madagascar. We have found out about the geographical features using Google Earth and maps, investigated the animals that live there and learnt about deforestation as well as doing our own research. The children worked hard to produce fact files to share their knowledge.
Some of the children chose to make leaflets, some chose to do a poster and others created PowerPoint presentations.
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
This half term, we will be focusing on Madagascar - where in the world is it? What is it like there? How is it similar/different to Mildenhall? Please see the topic map above for further information.
The children should regularly be bringing home books to read at home. We are following guidance to quarantine books for 72 hours before putting them back into book boxes in school, therefore we ask that the children keep their book at home until they have finished reading it. They can then return books to school and choose a new one to take home. We will continue to read in school with other resources.
Please let us know if you have not received a book recently.
In addition to reading, we ask that the children access Times Tables Rock Stars and Mathletics throughout the week in order to practise the maths skills they are developing in school.
Welcome back! We hope you all had a restful half term holiday.
This half term, our enquiry question is: What Happens in Autumn?
Take a look at our inspiration cycle to see what we will be finding out about.
Please see above for details on how learning will be assigned to the children in the event that the Year 2 bubble or the whole school has to close.
