Year 6

Welcome to Year 6!

Welcome to year 6, home to our oldest pupils! Mr Spence teaches 6ES with the support of Miss Slaughter who is a full time in-class teaching assistant. Mr Baxter teaches 6JB with the support of Mrs Marsh who is a full-time higher level teaching assistant. She also covers some weekly timetabled lessons in each class.

In year 6, our pupils enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum, from coding to cooking, whilst maintaining a significant focus on the core subjects: maths, reading and writing, to ensure out children are ready for high school. With this in mind, we invite our pupils to take more responsibility for being prepared for lessons, for example, bringing in the correct PE kit and ensuring their homework is completed on time.

Homework

Please see below for information about our homework expectations in year 6, and to find links to the learning platforms that we use for spelling, timetables and maths. Weekly SPAG sheets will be sent home. We encourage parents to support their child and talk to them about their homework. All homework is based on work undertaken in class.
